Students who have been impacted by the wildfires can apply for a Basic Needs Grant and Emergency Temporary Housing Assistance for urgent support.
Students impacted by the wildfires may be eligible for the Emergency Wildfire Hotspot Program. This program offers a limited amount of free mobile hotspots to students who need reliable internet to complete their coursework and stay connected with their instructors and peers.
Eligibility:
Currently enrolled Cal State LA students who are directly affected by the wildfires
Students who do not have access to a stable internet connection due to the wildfire's impact

*Hotspots are provided on a temporary basis through the fall 2025 semester.
Application Process
Complete the Application Form: Access and complete the online application form and provide details about your current enrollment status and how the wildfire has impacted your internet access.
Verification Process: Once your application is submitted, our team will review your request and verify your eligibility.
Receive Your Hotspot: Eligible students will be notified via their CalStateLA email from the ITS Help Desk ([email protected]) with further instructions on picking up the hotspot.
Technical Support: The ITS Help Desk team is available to assist you with the initial setup and connecting the hotspot to your device(s). Any additional support for troubleshooting hotspot issues will be provided at the time of pick-up.
Return Policy: Once the program concludes at the end of the fall 2025 semester, students are expected to return the hotspots. Directions for return will be communicated in due time.
